Calcit Volley KAMNIK clinched their fifth consecutive Slovenian women’s national championship title after defeating Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR by 3-1 in the final series of the Sportklub prva odbojkarska liga. Slovenian Volleyball fans witnessed as many as four five-setters and an intense battle for every point as these teams fought hard to crown themselves national champions.
In the final showdown against Nova KBM Branik, the team from Kamnik ultimately emerged victorious and celebrated their fifth consecutive and eighth national championship title overall. In the 2023/2024 season, Calcit Volley also secured the MEVZA Championship title. However, Nova KBM Branik, while falling short in the national championship, secured at least one laurel to reward their efforts this past season by winning the Slovenian Cup back in March.
Calcit Volley’s outside hitter and national team member Maša Pucelj was selected as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the final series.
GEN-I Volley NOVA GORICA claimed the bronze medal by outperforming SIP Šempeter 2-1 in the best-of-three series, with both clubs further solidifying their position among the top teams in Slovenian women’s Volleyball in recent years.
