OK HERCEG NOVI complete home double for second straight season

OK HERCEG NOVI have retained their title and crowned themselves women’s national champions of Montenegro yet again. In the third match of the EPCG Super League championship series against Luka BAR, they triumphed 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-21), thus perfectly concluding the season in which they secured yet another double crown. 

After a season’s break, Luka BAR returned to the championship finals, a title they have won as many as 12 times in their history. Ralitsa Vasileva with 17 points and Dijana Vuković with 12 scored the most points for OK HERCEG NOVI, while only captain Dušanka Petrović managed to chip in with double digits as she scored 10 times for Luka BAR. Kristina Božović added eight to the count of the runners-up. 

The Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG), Ivan Bošković, presented the trophy designed for the winners of the national league. The gold medals were awarded to the players and coaching staff of OK HERCEG NOVI by the Mayor of Herceg Novi, Stevan Katić, and the President of the OSCG Assembly, Milan Franović.

The silver medals were presented to the players and coaching staff of Luka BAR by a representative of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, Mitar Kisjelica, and the OSCG Competitions Director, Nikola Pješčić.

The medals to the officials overseeing the final match of the EPCG Super League, Supervisor Anka Ivanović as well as referees Predrag Beljkaš and Milorad Delić, were awarded by OSCG Board of Administration member, Nenad Vujanović.

The club season in Montenegro will conclude with the playoff rematch for promotion to the EPCG Super League due to take place in the city of Pljevlja on Tuesday, April 30.
