Limassol, Cyprus, December 15, 2016. A great victory for the queen of the Cyprus women’s Volleyball which reminds of the great old golden times. For a team who survived all the difficulties from the last years, this night was just magic. With the support of their many supporters, AEL LIMASSOL played a great game and they made it in an easy way to a 3-0 victory (25-22, 25-22, 25-18) over Slovakia’s 1.BVK BRATISLAVA in the first round of the 16th Finals of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Women.

The players coached by Stergios Frangeskou defined the rules in their field. After a great first set, AEL LIMASSOL eventually emerged victorious at 25-22. The hosts managed to push at the service and destroyed the 1.BVK reception. The second set was similar to the first one with the home team presenting their best self to cruise to another 25-22 win.

The blue-yellow girls of AEL LIMASSOL remained calmed during the third and critical set trying to dissolve the hopes of a comeback by BRATISLAVA, before finishing it all off at 25-18 for a resounding 3-0 victory.

It was a great night in Limassol and for Cyprus women’s Volleyball, and especially for the president of the team Mr Pantelis Christodoulou who strongly believed in the team’s possibilities.
