CEV Challenge Cup – An event never seen in London
2017 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Men

London, England, January 9, 2017. In less than one month the eyes of the Volleyball world will be turned towards London. On February 1, 2017, in the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace a historic match is going to take place when IBB Polonia LONDON will face the opposition of Draisma Dynamo APELDOORN in the 8th Finals of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men.

In spectacular style, the English team advanced to this stage of the competition. In the previous round, in Belchatow’s Energy Hall in Poland, during the home leg of the tie, IBB Polonia LONDON beat the Hungarian team of Fino KAPOSVAR SE 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 19-25, 25-19), and in an epic golden set they won 15-10.

“Other than the 2012 Olympics this will be the highest level of official competitive Volleyball ever to take place in England. Just over a year ago, IBB Polonia LONDON were the home team in the London Legacy Volleyball Cup in 2015, but that was not an official CEV event. No other English team has won a match in the CEV Challenge Cup in history. The match is likely to attract a sell-out crowd and enormous media interest. This match is not to be missed by any serious Volleyball fan!” said Chris Hykiel, IBB Polonia LONDON Sports Director.

IBB Polonia LONDON is about to make yet another step forward in the Volleyball world. This is a huge historic event, not only for Volleyball, but for the world of English sport. The time has come to fight for success in London. The event starts at 7pm local time. Tickets are already available via More information will be available on the club Facebook page (
