News from the National Federations
Valpovo, Croatia, May 18, 2016. The Croatian city of Valpovo, some 25 km northwest of Osijek, will be hosting in early June an international street Volleyball festival open to young players up to 13 years of age. The main goal of this action is to promote the sport as well as to ignite a spirit of friendship and tolerance among all participants.
The event is due to take place on Saturday, June 11 and will run from 9am up until 9pm across as many as 24 Volleyball courts that will be set up on King Tomislav Square, right at the very heart of Valpovo.
“It is an opportunity to promote the sport whilst children can perform and make new friends irrespectively of race, nationality, etc. The participants can enjoy performing outdoors and at the same time will be able to show what they have learnt throughout the winter season,” the organisers say.
A lot of side events are planned as well in order to entertain the kids and provide the right ambiance for an unforgettable Volleyball festival, which is expected to be joined by as many as 140 teams, thereby accounting for 1,200 players from five to six different countries, and some 3,000 visitors throughout the day.
