News from the CEV
Stockholm, Sweden, October 24, 2016. CEV President Aleksandar Boričić and CEV Senior Vice President Renato Arena are currently paying a two-day visit to Scandinavia, and their ‘tour’ started on Monday in Stockholm.
After travelling to the Swedish capital on Sunday evening, Mr Boričić and Mr Arena visited the Swedish Sports Confederation the next morning, meeting up with Secretary General, Mr Stefan Bergh (see picture above). Accompanied by Mr Saffet Eraybar, President of the Swedish Volleyball Federation, and Mr Bengt Wicksell, Secretary General of the Swedish Volleyball Federation, the CEV’s highest-ranking officials discussed with Mr Bergh the existing cooperation with the Swedish Volleyball family, a number of future projects and the possibility of organising international competitions in the Scandinavian country.
The CEV President and Mr Arena then paid a visit to the Swedish Volleyball Federation headquarters in Stockholm to discuss how to keep growing the game in Sweden, where Snow Volleyball came up as an example of further cooperation.
After a lunch and a sightseeing trip by boat where the delegation had time to explore the beautiful city centre of Stockholm, Mr Boričić and Mr Arena had the opportunity to meet with Mr Olle Anfelt of the Swedish Olympic Committee.
“As far as I know this is the first time that the acting CEV President is visiting the Swedish Volleyball Federation. We feel happy and honoured he chose to come here,” Mr Eraybar said.
On Tuesday morning Mr Boričić and Mr Arena will travel to Copenhagen, Denmark where further high-profile meetings are scheduled with representatives of the local Volleyball family and a number of other high-ranking authorities.
