Yellow Angels take on Azerrail in CL home debut
2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women
Istanbul, Turkey, January 10, 2017. Fenerbahce SK ISTANBUL will be hosting on Wednesday their first home match in the group stage of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women, playing Azerrail BAKU. The match is due to start at 7:00 p.m. local time and will be played at Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall.
Fenerbahce started their campaign before the Christmas break with an away victory over France’s ST-RAPHAËL Var VB. “This is our second Champions League match this season and we are playing Azerrail BAKU at home,” said middle blocker Eda Erdem Dündar. “They are a strong team and they have been playing good lately. They have a good diagonal with their setter and opposite, and this one player is attacking most of the times. They also have good middle blockers. We have been working hard for this match and we want to catch a good start to our home campaign. We played a good first match and we just want to take another three points from the game with Azerrail. There are no easy matches in the CEV Champions League but we want to stay at the top of the charts and finish the group stage in first place. Though the weather hasn’t been that good here in Istanbul these days, we still hope for our fans to come and support us.”
The Korean star player of Fenerbahce, Kim Yeon-Koung, added: “This is our first home match and we want to play as good as possible. We wait for our fans to come and see the match; I hope we can deliver a good performance and win.”
