News from the National Federations
Brussels, Belgium, January 24, 2017. Belgium’s and Europe’s Volleyball family are in mourning following the death of the long-time Secretary General of the Royal Belgian Volleyball Federation (FRBVB), Mr Albert Daffe.
Mr Daffe passed away on Sunday, January 22 after devoting almost his entire life to Volleyball and to its growth and development in Belgium.
Mr Daffe played a leading and pivotal role towards the success story of Belgian Volleyball while acting as President of the Association Interprovinciale Francophone (AIF), as well as Chairman of the Provincial Committee of Namur and of the Volleyball club Mosan Yvoir where his passion for the sport was born and nurtured.
Mr Daffe was also known as a successful Volleyball coach; under his guidance the Volleyball club Mosan Yvoir claimed multiple national titles in the youth, school and junior divisions – and at the same time the senior team took part in many editions of the European Cups. He was at the helm of the AIF since 1982 and Secretary General of the Royal Belgian Volleyball Federation since that same year.
The thoughts and prayers of Europe’s Volleyball family and of the CEV Board of Administration chaired by President Aleksandar Boričić are with his family and loved ones.
