News from the National Federations
Yerevan, Armenia, January 30, 2017. Snow Volleyball is still at an early development stage, and yet it is becoming more and more popular in many countries. On Saturday, January 28, the Volleyball Federation of Armenia hosted in the country’s capital, Yerevan, the third edition of their Snow Volleyball National Championships with participation of eight men’s and seven women’s teams, respectively.

Ashot Balabekyan and Andre Simoni claimed the title in the men’s competition; performing under the denomination ‘Armenia’s Youth Team’ they beat the ‘Armenia’s Boys Team’ in the final. Razmik Aleksanyan and Garik Miskaryan, aka FIMA 1, settled for the bronze medals to complete the podium.
Maria Hovhannisyan/Nare Hovhannisyan of ‘Team Sisian’ finished on top of the pile in the women’s competition as they beat Ani Stepanyan and Maria Baghdasaryan, aka Njdeh 1, in the ‘big final’. Ani Hovsepyan and Jenya Hovhannisyan – aka Njdeh 2 – finished in third place.
The top three teams in each competition received medals, diplomas and special prizes provided by the tournament’s main sponsors, Megasport and Famous Tour.
