Baku, Azerbaijan, February 3, 2017. The implementation of the “Volleyball at School” project continued on Wednesday and Thursday, February 1 and 2 with a seminar held in Ganja, the second Azerbaijani city – next to Baku – set to host matches of the 2017 women’s EuroVolley later this year.
After the successful seminar organised last weekend in Baku, the CEV instructor and lecturer, Mr Athanasios Papageorgiou shared his knowledge of the game with as many as 35 physical education teachers from the city of Ganja.
The participants joined theoretical and practical classes focussing on the ABC of Mini Volleyball as an introduction to the main features of the Volleyball game. The Volleyball team of the local sports school in Ganja helped with the delivery of the practical session so that the attendees could see first-hand some of the drills they were introduced to.
The “Volleyball at School” project will soon enter its second phase with the addition of Mini Volleyball to the physical education classes and after-school activities of many schools in order to involve as many youngsters as possible across Azerbaijan.
