Belgrade, Serbia, February 23, 2017. Jedinstvo STARA PAZOVA made history this past weekend as they rallied to their first ever title in the Serbian national cup. In the final match of the 51st edition of the prestigious domestic competition, Jedinstvo dominated in front of a raucous home crowd and easily beat Dinamo PANCEVO 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-20), after 69 minutes of play.
With more than 1,000 spectators in attendance, and the highest officials from the Volleyball Federation of Serbia accompanied by many esteemed guests, sports officials and media representatives watching from the stands, it was surely one of those classical moments many will remember for a long time.
Mr Zoran Gajic, President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia (VFS), presented Sara Sakradzija, team captain of Jedinstvo STARA PAZOVA, with the trophy for the eventual winners of the competition. Mr Djula Mester, VFS Vice President, presented Nina Jakic, player of Jedinstvo, with the award for the MVP of the competition, while Mr Zoran Bosic, Regional Sales Director at the “Vip mobile” company – general sponsor of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia – added a Huawei P9 mobile phone to her prize list.

“We knew we were the favourites and we managed to live up to this role. The match against Vizura in the semis was clearly a decider. I want to thank such a wonderful crowd who carried us all the way,” said Sara Sakradzija, team captain of Jedinstvo.
“When you win this trophy, one of three major trophies in Serbian Volleyball, you must be satisfied. This one came at the right moment. I think we deserved it, and at the same time, this will be a great motivation for us for the upcoming matches in the national league,” said Jovo Cakovic, head coach of Jedinstvo.
“I did not expect this prize for the MVP of the tournament, because we have so many great players in our team. However, I am extremely happy with it. We played well and hard, we prepared for this tournament in the best way and we deserved this trophy,” said Nina Jakic, middle blocker of Jedinstvo and MVP of the tournament.
“We are satisfied despite the loss. We came here very motivated, we did our best, reached the final, and that is our maximum for now. I am proud of my teammates,” said Dragana Markovic, team captain of Dinamo PANCEVO.
“We have to congratulate our rivals, because they were clearly the better team today. We were a little bit frightened, but still we had our chances. We must be satisfied with our performance at the Final Four Tournament,” said Aleksandar Vladisavljev, head coach of Dinamo.
