Pietro Bruno Cattaneo elected as FIPAV President in Rimini

Rimini, Italy, February 27, 2017. Pietro Bruno Cattaneo was elected as President of the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) at the organisation’s General Assembly, which was held in Rimini on Sunday. The 70-year-old Cattaneo received 9,149.1 votes, thus edging Carlo Magri, who collected 8,130.1. Magri had been at the helm of the Italian Volleyball Federation for the past 22 years and the delegates acknowledged his immense contribution to the growth of the sport with a standing ovation.
Adriano Bilato and Giuseppe Manfredi won the race for the two Vice-President positions, with the new FIPAV Board of Administration including also the following members: Francesco Apostoli, Davide Angelo Anzalone, Guido Pasciari, Beppino Mazzon, Catia Pedrini, Ferruccio Riva and Gianfranco Salmaso. Franco Bertoli and Francesca Piccinini will serve at the athletes’ representatives in the Board with Marco Paolini taking the spot for coaches.
