Meeting with Commission Presidents sets tone for exciting time for Volleyball
News from the CEV
Luxembourg, March 9, 2017. On Thursday, CEV President Aleksandar Boričić and CEV Vice President and Treasurer Özkan Mutlugil had the opportunity to meet with the Presidents of the CEV Commissions to review a number of proposals and ideas resulting from their respective meetings held earlier this year.
The Presidents of the European Cups Commission (ECC), European Legal Commission (ELC), European Medical Commission (EMC), European Refereeing Commission (ERC), and European Sports Organising Commission (ESOC), briefed the CEV President and CEV Vice President on the outcome of their respective annual plenary meetings, thus putting forward a number of proposals. The members of the CEV Board of Administration will now study and discuss these ideas once they convene for their first plenary meeting of 2017 in late April in Rome, Italy.
The work of the Commissions and the contribution of experts in their respective areas are regarded as truly instrumental to the growth of Volleyball. The CEV leadership around President Boričić encourages all members of the Volleyball family to come forward and make proposals for the implementation of actions and projects likely raise the profile and value of the sport at all levels.
The CEV Executive Committee will review the Commissions’ proposals as well later this month in Valletta, Malta as President Boričić and his colleagues continue their mission to re-shape the governance of Volleyball in Europe to make sure the sport grows in terms of popularity, awareness and draws more and more interest from sponsors and media alike.
